Hikvision’s DS-2CD2H85FWD-IZS 8MP(4K) camera is an affordable and extremely flexible surveillance camera that equips with Hikvision latest security technology enabling it to ensure the best possible operational outcomes in extremely challenging environments.
The Hikvision DS-2CD2H85FWD-IZS Turret camera is a day/night 8MP(4K), IP67 and IK10 network camera with a motorised 2.8~12mm F1.2 lens giving optical zoom and auto focus, a 1/2.5" Progressive Scan CMOS, which improves low-light performance, delivering a minimum scene illumination of 0.01 lux in colour mode at up to 20fps in H.265+.

This camera has a WDR range of 120dB with built-in infrared illumination that’s coupled with Advanced IR technology to capture near and far objects without the flare of IR overexposure. The DS-2CD2H85FWD-IZS can view objects in darkness at distances up to 30m from the camera.
BigPack mounted the camera to the front of warehouse aiming at outdoor road. Wondering the picture quality, you can take a look at the captured day & night images. Undoubtedly, the image is quite clear and sharp, color reproduction is accurate. The zoom is solid – even though it’s 2.8-12mm, it really makes a difference in our street scene, in some cases, you do need an option to allow your client to control the zoom and focus to what they are interested in without have to go with the expensive and huge PTZ cameras. Also, the motorized camera makes the installation quite simple, and saved our time on the tuning. Re-focus is on the good side. Not as fast as the fastest auto focus functions we’ve seen but in the top category. The camera’s ability to handle variable light is excellent. All shaded areas are very well handled, and the bright areas remain extremely consistent with no over-exposure. Many more expensive cameras can’t manage as well as this. Colour rendition is also very good.
Hikvision Smart Feature-set also embedded: Cross a pre-defined virtual line Detection - Line crossing detection. Enter and loiter in a pre-defined virtual region Detection - Intrusion Detection. Objects left over in the pre-defined region such as the baggage, purse, dangerous materials detection - Unattended Baggage Detection. Objects removed from the pre-defined region, such as the exhibits on display detection - Object Removal Detection. Also come with useful Face Detection Recognition function.
From my point of view, DS-2CD2H85FWD-IZS is what we expected and more, it has its 8MP sensor allows for impressive day time performance with sharp details and bright natural colours, as for the cameras night performance, its IR coverage makes for a much clearer image with better detail rendition over longer distances. Finally, the H.265+ CODEC which hugely reduces the storage requirements for recording 8MP footage, making 8MP cameras like the DS-2CD2H85FWD-IZS a much more affordable option than they had been previously. Further strengths include a useful zoom range for street applications, good IR performance, excellent WDR and a seamless variable light performance in tough scenes.
